13- 14 September Walker Flat Weekend

Meet at around midday Sat at boat ramp, Hettner Landing,  Walker Flat about 1 km upstream from the ferry. Set up camp or sleep on your boat. There are fire places and toilets in the camping area. A group expect to leave in boats at midday on Friday 12 Sept. and spend the night at 194km mark roughly opposite the boat ramp at Caurnamont. There are appropriate moorings for larger boats and putt-putts. Activities to include socialising and local cruising with a campfire on Sat Night. Gil Leaver is coordinating the event but will be away until closer to the time so leave your name with Barry on 0408 975 696 for now if you intend to come.

Past Events 2007-8

24 - 25 May. Mannum Moonlight Cruise

Set up camp at Greenings landing,cruised into mannum in the afternoon; dinner at the Pretoria Hotel; return for post dinner drinks etc by moonlight.

19-20 January Saharas Weekend

Members launched at Mundoo Channel on Hindmarsh Island and went to The Saharas National Parks camp site. Some stayed overnight, others made a day trip of it.

9th December Riverside Run

A windy day. Shallow water meant problems for some. Small boats made it. Others came by car. All enjoyed the day.

16 September: Paiwalla Swamp visit

A cruise from near Murray bridge. A blowy day with changing river levels causing problems for some.

26b August: Working Bee on Oscar W

Helped the Oscar W volunteers group with a number of jobs and made a donation to the organisation that keeps this wonderful paddle steamer going.

17 June: Design a Dinghy Workshop

Held at TAFE Port Adeleide where we learnt the basics of lofting a dinghy.

28-29 July Cobdogla Weekend

We stayed at the Cobdogla Station Caravan Park, looked around the backwaters and cruised the River. Great night at the Cobby Club on Saturday

5-6 May: Greening's Landing/Mannum weekend

A great weekend! Thanks to the hospitality of Ron and Carol Greening of Greening's Landing who gave us camping space made showers available, helped launch boats with a tractor in the low river conditions and motored down to Mannum with a pontoon so the larger vessels could pull up outside the Pretoria Hotel. We had a reat meal, a beautiful moonlight cruise back to Greening's and proceeded to sip and laugh well into the night.

22 April Shed Crawl

Met at Devon Amber's place. He is collector of vintage machinery and known to us for exploits on the River in his boats. We enjoyed a tour of an amazing collection of macinery and lots of other things. He has the best ever workshop(s) setup!

3-4 February: Coorong Weekend

A cruise to the Saharas past the River Mouth at a time when it was possible. We camped on the beach or slept on boats. Great weekend.
